Tomb raider Lara Croft's excursion turns unreal five times: the next Tomb Raider will enjoy Unreal Engine 5 as a graphics engine
The franchise of tomb raider has been hibernating for a while, but apparently the engine is about to re-ignite with the inimitable roar of theU. According to the latest presentation by Epic Games, several development teams have already worked to take advantage of the new game engine. Among the suitors intent on grabbing the bouquet, we have CD Projekt RED and The Coalition. However, what stood out among the talented developers was none other than Crystal Dynamics. The IP manager, dallas dickinson, openly confirmed the gestation of the new chapter. Lara, in other words, is returning.
Unreal Engine 5 and Tomb Raider: a perfect marriage?
In reality, no further details have been provided on the new Tomb Raider, beyond the intention to make good use of Unreal Engine 5. However, we know that the development process is still at the beginning. The last chapter, Shadow of, dates back four years ago, with Eidos Montreal at the helm. In fact, remember that at the time the hands of Crystal Dynamics were busy with the discussed Marvel's Avengers. The development team last handled Lara in 2015 with Rise of the Tomb Raider. As it reminds us State of Unreal, this will be a not indifferent change of game engine. The previous two episodes in fact used the Foundation engine created by Crystal Dynamics itself. What changes will this choice lead to, then, remains to be seen. Dickinson has already promised "next-level gameplay and storytelling experiences," adding that Crystal Dynamics already plans to "lobby for photorealism" resulting in a "high-quality cinematic action-adventure experience." In short, many words for just as much salivation, especially considering that the development team promised some time ago unify the continuities of the IP.
