The beginning of Lucca Comics & Games 2022 is upon us: from tomorrow Friday 28 October 2022 until Tuesday 1 November 2022 the largest event dedicated to comics, video games and pop culture in general will open its doors to its visitors and for the first time ever there will also be MediaWorld. In fact, the German retail chain will participate in the fair to be held in the Tuscan city, with a calendar full of very interesting appointments and initiatives for all video games.
MediaWorld's location will be the entire Baluardo di San Donato, which will be customized with various areas dedicated to gaming and simulators. However, there is also a VIP Lounge area, a Smart Shop and various collateral activities, dedicated to Esports, Meet&Greet tournaments, live streams on Twitch, photo booths and much more. Access will also be a playful activity: in order to enter you will have to solve riddles in the style of Ready Player One, a film directed by Steven Spielberg, in the name of interaction. There will also be a Smart Shop, where it will be possible to purchase products and accessories from Acer, Asus, Lenovo, Logitech, Samsung and many others. Space also for NFTs: in the Meet&Greet area it will in fact be possible to meet various famous artists, who will create unique live works together with the public, which will be transformed into a non-fungible token. The visitors' experience can then be immortalized thanks to a series of photos, which can be taken by playing with the look thanks to the masks and balloons present in the various corners. Photo printing it will be immediate and will also be sent digitally via email.
The pavilion was designed by the cartoonist Giovanni Timpano and is inspired by the video games that will be featured in the tournaments throughout the event: Fortnite, Assetto Corsa Competizione, League of Legends and Rocket League. The settings of the games have been revisited by the cartoonist, paying homage to the most evocative places and landscapes of Lucca. The MediaWorld space will be 250 square meters, which will host a corner dedicated to simulators, two gaming zones with gaming stations equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU and a VIP area animated by numerous special guests. At the center of the building there will be a stage that will host various personalities and companies, including Bryan Box (Radio 105 speaker) and various content creators, streamers and pro-players such as Counter, Los Amigos, Efesto, Amos Laurito, Allerendys, Lauridis and the coaches of Samsung Morning Stars, the Jean Alesi Esports Academy and many others.
As far as Esports is concerned, the pavilion will host the finals of the first edition of the MediaWorld Esport Cup. It is a tournament dedicated to the protagonist video games, where several players who faced each other in the elimination phase qualified. The tournaments are managed with AK Esports, but there will also be the possibility to qualify on site, thanks to the community event, which will be held from 20 to 31 October. The best players will compete live on stage and in live streaming and for the winners there are twenty gift cards from the retail chain up for grabs, with the amount that will vary based on their placement on the podium. The regulation can be consulted at this address.
